Company Profile:
Corning Incorporated is an American manufacturer of glass, ceramics, and related materials, primarily for industrial and scientific applications. The company was known as Corning Glass Works until 1989, when it changed its name to Corning Incorporated.
Corning is continually looking for ways to improve Gorilla Glass and achieve new levels of tough. Gorilla® Glass 3 is not only chemically strengthened — its atomic configuration is formulated so that the glass is more durable. Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance™ (NDR) is fundamentally tougher and more damage resistant even before chemical strengthening. How tough? Gorilla® Glass 3 with NDR enables improved damage resistance and toughness compared to former glass compositions and is up to three times more damage resistant than Gorilla Glass 2. This type of Native Damage Resistance is a unique feature of Gorilla® Glass 3. Something Corning is able to provide due to a proprietary glass composition that is better able to resist the deep scratches that cause glass to break.

Taking full advantage of touch notebook displays goes ‘hand-in-hand’ with the potential abuses that come with all that gripping, swiping, wiping and tapping. A higher level of damage resistance is crucial. Compared to today’s fragile soda lime glass displays, Gorilla® Glass NBT™ offers: 8x-10x higher scratch resistance Reduced incidence of damage when inadvertently closing the display on top of an object Better ability to withstand the shock of accidental bumps

Thousands of bacteria live on a mobile device surface. Every tap, swipe and phone call results in further exposure of the touch surface. With the rapid growth of touch-enabled devices, this is becoming a growing concern. Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass – the first EPA-registered antimicrobial cover glass – can help. Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass: Is formulated with antimicrobial properties to protect touch surfaces Works continuously Is built to last the lifetime of the device Has the same toughness and optical clarity of Corning® Gorilla® Glass. While touch screen technology offers an incredibly wide range of benefits, it does come at a cost: Thousands of bacteria live on a mobile device surface. That’s why Corning has developed Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass. It’s the same tough and scratch resistant Gorilla® Glass you have come to rely on, yet contains an ionic silver component which serves as an antimicrobial agent to keep the glass clean. Registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass is safe and non-toxic for the intended uses of display cover glass applications and architectural structures such as wall panels, doors, windows, and protective panels for frequently touched surfaces. So, as you keep demanding more from your mobile devices, it’s a good time to look for Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass on your next smartphone. The antimicrobial protection is limited to the touch surface. Proper labeling of products incorporating Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass is required. Corning makes no direct or implied claims to protecting users.

Gorilla Glass is ideal for interactive displays, digital signage and markerboards. It’s tough and so thin it enables more sensitive and accurate response. It allows customers to create lighter weight displays that are visually stunning and optically clear. Gorilla Glass also helps reduce the issue of parallax, which allows for a more precise touch surface for interaction and viewing, especially at wide viewing angles.
