What is the difference between botany and horticulture?

These two terms seem to mean the same thing. Can anyone shed some light here?

Botany is the scientific study of plant life such as growth, reproduction, development and diseases etc. whereas horticulture is the science of plant cultivation including the process of preparing soil for the planting of seeds, tubers, or plant cuttings. In other words, Botany studies plants while horticulture grows them.
