Hongqi L5

Introduced at the 2014 Beijing auto show, the Hongqi L5 is a three ton, 20 feet long luxury vehicle manufactured by FAW. The L5 is styled after one of the brand's early offerings, the milquetoast CA 770 series that was introduced in the 1950s. Powered by a 6.0-liter V12 that produces around 400 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque, the Hongqi L5 features a six-speed automatic and carries its power to all four wheels. The interior uses a clean and simplistic design without a button too many, with its white leather matching perfectly with beautifully crafted wood and aluminum. The car's steering wheel uses a sunflower design which is a reference to the famous Hongqi CA770 state limousine. It also features such details as weighted wheel center caps that retain their orientation even as the wheels spin. The Hongqi L5 is China's answer to the Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Phantom with a sticker price of $800.000 USD. The world Hongqi stands for red flag in Chinese.
