Janpanese manga artist. He is born in Kumamoto prefecture and dropped out of Kyusyutokai university. Nick name is Odachi. Affected by his father who was interested in a oil paints, he started to paint and when he was 4 years old, he admired to be a manga painter because he did not want to work after growing up. Since he began to carry 'One piece' in 'Shukan Shonen Jump' magazine in 1997, the accumulated number of publishing has exceeded 0.3 billion and also the 67th volume was sold in the highest number in Japanese comic industry.
日本の漫画家。熊本県熊本市出身、九州東海大学を中退した。 愛称はオダッチ。 油絵が趣味だった父親の影響で幼い頃から絵を描き始め、4歳の時に漫画家という職業を知り「大人になっても働かなくていいんだ!」と思い漫画家を目指し始める。 1997年より「週刊少年ジャンプ」で連載している「ONE PIECE」の累計発行部数は国内最高の3億部を突破しており、67巻は国内出版史上最高記録となる初版405万部を発行している。
